Vaccinium vitis-idaea has the common names Cowberry, Northern Mountain Cranberry and Lingonberry and many others. It makes a great evergreen ground cover plant, growing to a foot in height and 3 feet spread. It has the added bonus of creamy bell-shaped flowers in spring followed by red edible fruit in summer. The fruit can be used in the same way as cranberries but are sweeter tasting. They are full of vitamins and antioxidants. Plants supplied are grown in 9cm pots and are ready for planting out. They are self-fertile so only 1 plant is needed to produce fruit.
